About the Programme
OVERVIEW
Who are these qualifications for?
The APM Project Management Qualification training course follows the syllabus set by the Association for Project Management (APM), and includes the APM Project Management Qualification exam.The APM PMQ is adopted as standard training for project professionals in leading organisations such as Siemens, Network Rail and BAA.
The APM PMQ -
- Demonstrates knowledge of all key elements of project management
- Demonstrates that you are a skilled and committed project professional
- Provides international recognition [aligns to International Project Management Association (IPMA) Level D]
- Is relevant to project management in any industry
- Complements project methodologies, such as PRINCE2
Attendees will take part in a series of intensive coaching sessions over 5 days, addressing all the main topics covered by the APM syllabus in a structured and consistent way. The sessions will include presentations, exercises and sample examination papers.
The course is designed to improve the skills of project management staff to enable them to make sound business decisions and thereby manage their projects to a successful conclusion.
The course builds on existing knowledge and experience and attendees will learn how to better plan, control and monitor their projects including risk and financial analysis together with reporting on progress. Interpersonal skills such as negotiation techniques and managing stakeholders are also covered.
Achievement of the APM PMQ is through a 3 hour written examination with essay style questions, which is set and assessed by the APM.

In 2017 it gained a Royal Charter as part of its strategy to raise awareness and standards in the profession. The receipt of a Royal Charter marks a significant achievement in the evolution of project management.
